Fatal Judgment by Irene Hannon ~ 5 stars + Favorite!

Fatal Judgment
Irene Hannon
Guardians of Justice series #1
Revell Publishing
About the book:
U.S. Marshal Jake Taylor has seen plenty of action during his years in law enforcement. But he'd rather go back to Iraq than face his next assignment: protection detail for federal judge Liz Michaels. His feelings toward the coldhearted workaholic haven't warmed in the five years since she drove her husband--and Jake's best friend--to despair . . . and possible suicide.

As the danger mounts and Jake gets to know Liz better, he's forced to revise his opinion of her. And when it becomes clear that an unknown enemy may want her dead, the stakes are raised. Because now both her life--and his heart--are in danger.

My review:
Being an avid fan of the hit show, NCIS, I was leery about reading this book in case it didn’t measure up to my high standards. I’m happy to say that it did. And some!

The suspense was so well written that I couldn’t put the book down. I read it in one day, so I’m warning that you need to set aside time to read this. It is not a “by bits and pieces” read. You won’t want to be interrupted! The romance fit naturally into the book, and didn’t seem forced or boring. I loved all the characters!

I would say that this is an excellent romantic suspense, and I will definitely be checking into reading other books by this author!

Thanks to Revell for my free review copy of this book!

Hi, Carman! Thank you so much for the great review of my latest book. I work hard to get my facts right, and it's always good to hear that people appreciate the authenticity in my novels.

I appreciate your reviews Carman, because you are so honest and alot like me in the sense that we are picky and don't just like everything. So when you give a good review, I know I can try the book even if I hadn't planned on doing so before. Keep up the good work!

Oooh, this sounds good. Normally I am not for anything suspenseful, but just this year I have gotten into the show Castle. So I suppose my tastes are changing. Lol. Thanks for doing the review! I'll have to add this book to my list of book recs!

This sounds like a great read to me. Thanks for the review - I don't like it when the romance is forced into the story or happens so fast that you wonder how they even know that they like each other, so I'm glad that you said this wasn't like that. It's on my tbr list.

Diana~ Thank you so much! :D I appreciate that! Makes my hard work worth it! :D

MissKallie~ Awesome! Yes, I would definitely say that this meets the level of suspense/drama that NCIS has, in my opinion. :)

Leanne~ I have never seen that show. I might have to check into it. :) Thanks for the comment and I hope you like the book!

Tressa~ Oh, I am the same way! It always frustrates me when characters are just suddenly "in love" and you didn't walk with them through the process. :/

NCIS fans! Awesome. =D I know there's a Christian fiction book series that features characters who are NCIS ... it's by Mel Odom, I think? A lot of you might be interested ...

This book sounds interesting ... I should see if the library has it. Thanks!
